Anne Reburn

“My last year looked like this: Oklahoma. Madrid. Barcelona. Oklahoma. Los Angeles. I’m still trying to figure out where it’s safe to stop and unpack -- unwind.”

Creating music has become a necessity for singer Anne Reburn. She sees the process as nesting—creating a sort of safe-haven while she searches for somewhere permanent to land.

The processes of creating and performing are comfortable for Anne. Ever since the age of 9, she has performed with theatre groups throughout the Midwestern U.S. Being from a small Oklahoma town, the music she sang quickly became an escape from the slow, rural lifestyle she otherwise felt stuck in. Like many other twenty somethings, this disconnect between her and her surroundings left her feeling lost. So, upon reaching adulthood, Anne set out on her own to find someplace to call home.

Anne has come to document this process. After departing from her temporary life in Barcelona, fate and fervent emotional force guided Anne’s hand to pen down the words of her latest single, “So it Goes.” What came of these words was a melancholy yet intense pop track about the burden of resignation—the realization that maybe home isn’t home after all, and sometimes you have to leave comfort in order to find what you have been looking for.
Her upcoming tracks are currently in production with her producer, Colton Jean, and co-writer, Jordan Lindley.
Anne currently resides in Los Angeles.
